After extensive comparison Hippo CMS was chosen for scalability, performance, ease of development, and last but not least it's superior user friendly interface. Allowing Dolce&Gabbana's non-technical users to be more productive. In the selection process Dolce&Gabbana's technical team did extensive performance

"Hippo CMS is very easy to use."

The fixed link between the navigational structure of the CMS and the resulting website makes it very difficult to deploy several magazines from the same CMS

testing of various CMS solutions. Another important requirement was the adaptability and flexibility of the CMS user interface. Hippo's plug-in based architecture allowed them to streamline the user experience and to integrate with other systems in the future.

Challenge

As a leading luxury and fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana demanded total freedom and creativity in their website design, while at the same time their editors requested an easy to use system. The clean separation of content and design in Hippo CMS allowed Dolce&Gabbana to accomplish this goal. Working with Hippo's Professional Services team, the Dolce&Gabbana site was entirely designed around creating different content overviews based on tags. Dolce&Gabbana also required consistent availability and high performance; two things Hippo CMS does exceptionally well.

Solution

Hippo CMS was integrated with a Akamai delivery environment to provide fast load times around the globe.

Result

On May 23rd 2010 Swide, the online magazine dedicated to fashion, luxury and lifestyle, was the first site to go live on Hippo CMS. Because Hippo CMS is very developer friendly, in under 8 weeks the Italian service provider Killnine was able to migrate all of Swide's content from the old system to Hippo CMS and successfully launch the Swide website.
