Portal, to personalize your information
Personalization means making a distinction between the different roles of the users and the access rights they have, and clustering the content accordingly. Within most organizations this content will be delivered by different databases and back-office systems. By using the personalization functionality within the Hippo portal, the offered information and its presentation, can be specifically aimed at the individual user or a user group.
The flows of information can be customized on both a central and a decentral level.
Central
A webmaster, application developer or system administrator, can define
the roles and the rights of the different users. These will be connected to
functionalities and flows of information from databases and back-offices. By
realizing this within your organization, people will only get to see the
information they need. One browser will be their work space.
Decentral
As an individual user of the Hippo portal, you can make your "own homepage". You
can adjust your own personal settings of your portal and make sure all required
information will be fitted to your needs. Examples of your personal settings on
a decentral level are, the presentation of your favorite documents and links,
your history, and adjustment of the skin of the lay out. On a central level it
will be arranged that you will have access to "your" back-office systems without
needing to login over and over again.
