Government
The accessibility and transparency of information plays a growing role in government policy. Internet makes it possible for governments to disclose their information. Especially when it involves large amounts, the handling of the information by the system is crucial for the success of a project.
Hippo CMS is well suited to manage, structure and classify large amounts of information. For this the Open Standards on which Hippo CMS is based are of vital importance. Consequently the information can very well be used for other purposes (such as: publishing the information as .pdf, offering it in a RSS feed, or presenting it on a I-mode device).
Often Open Source and working with Open Standards go together. Hippo CMS is completely based on Open Source and Open Standards. As a result, the Hippo CMS is excellently connectible to other software applications.
The Dutch Government has decided in 2006 that all governments have to work with Open Standards and that with public acquisition Open Source software should be prefered.
Hippo CMS is currently being used by different ministries, districts, county's, by the health sector, by universities, and by other public services. For an complete overview of Hippo's clients click here.
