Hippo CMS

Hippo CMS is a user-friendly content management system for maintaining all your information in a structured publication on Internet, intranet or extranet. The key points of Hippo CMS are user-friendliness, interoperability and expandability.

With Hippo CMS it is possible to merge various external sources seamlessly into a single whole. Hippo CMS itself therefore works with all the usual open standards and is deployed in particular in situations where links are needed with other data systems, tools and platforms. Standard connections are therefore present for many of the usual sources (SAP, Exact, Plannon, etc.).

What makes Hippo CMS different from other content management systems?
The open architecture offers a number of important benefits:

  • Open Source: you can read about the benefits of Open Source here. The source code of Hippo CMS can be found on www.hippocms.org.
  • Re-use of content: content can be used simultaneously on your website, intranet or extranet and even in print.
  • Separation of content, design and the content management system instead of merely separation of content and design. This means that a modification to the presentation has no consequences for the system itself. This makes the solution extremely flexible.
  • Rapid implementation: the implementation and running costs depend linearly on the size of the project (in script-based systems this relationship is exponential).
  • User-friendly interface: this is extremely important in systems that people have to use on a daily basis.
  • Native XML + 100% Java = 100% open.
  • No vendor lock-in: the software can also be used by other web builders.
  • Unlike many open source products, Hippo CMS is not a toolkit that requires further configuration.

Hippo products are scalable and flexible systems that store data in the medium-independent XML format. Publication to HTML and PDF is a standard feature and the structured arrangement of templates in pipelined XSL transformations allows extremely rapid development. This means that the implementation times are also very short.

The end-user environment is a very user-friendly Word-like environment where the content can be stored and managed in a structured way. This is so simple that content can be published straight from the source.
For example: the job opportunities on your intranet or website can be placed by the HRM department, so that the information is relevant and up to date.
