Our
enterprise customers have skilled teams of Java developers with a passion for
open source. As Senior Java Web Developer you help these client teams be
successful: by training them, providing code or architecture reviews or by
working closely together with their team.
You will work with a small, enthusiastic and experienced team in Cambridge. You will be involved in technical discussions, drive new innovative ideas and make calls on what is feasible or not. You will be on top of new technologies to make sure we stay on the forefront constantly improving our products. We practice SCRUM / AGILE development and inspire everyone to continuously learn new things, benefitting both parties. Hippo has a vast number of employees participating in open source projects within the Apache Software Foundation. This role will give you the unique opportunity to work closely together with these experienced programmers, capable of giving you valuable feedback in a nice way on a day to day basis.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop new features front to back, usually as part of a SCRUM team;
- Train and assist client implementation teams;
- Doing code reviews;
- Share knowledge throughout the company and beyond;
- Provide feedback to our core development team and solve issues in the Hippo product range;
- Point out issues with the existing architecture and code, and clean it up;
Qualifications:
- Java EE, Maven;
- Wicket, Spring or other (Java) frameworks;
- Web scripting languages like JSP, FTL, GSP, etc;
- Web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery, AJAX), W3C recommandations;
- RESTful web-services;
- Servlet containers like Tomcat;
- Bachelor’s Degree;
Desired qualifications:
- Content Management Systems like Hippo CMS and/or similar products;
- JCR, CMIS, Webdav;
